Velocity Invitational (Sonoma Raceway)

The fourth annual velocity was hosted at Sonoma Raceway this year. I haven’t been in this area or around this track since I was a kid when my dad would come up here, I can remember it vividly. Stopping on the side of the road to get wine and me asking for red vines (candy) going on the back roads to a mechanic houses working on Bentleys anyways, I’m getting sidetracked. I’ve never been to one of these events so I wasn’t sure what to expect. After sitting in traffic for a little bit and meeting up with Martin, we headed to Sonoma Raceway. Once we got there, I met up with Horatio and went up to park at the BMW GGC.

After heading down the hill, we watched group 4 race and Horatio coming in P1. Ones the race was over. We headed to the paddock to check out all of the cars participating in this weekend event. There were so many great cars that I’ve never seen at this event! It’s Really cool to see in person, We wondered around the paddock for about an hour before hopped in line to grab some food. I Ended up ordering a honey fried chicken sandwich and waffle fries. (not pictured)

Once lunch was over with, we headed to the grandstand to watch some races . At the time the hypercars were out and the Gunther works 911 for me was stealing the show spitting flames 🔥. There were a plethora of beautiful automobiles from Ayrton senna McLaren , McLaren F1 to Le Mans race cars. Saturday was extremely fun and I know Sunday will not disappoint.

The next morning woke up slightly earlier and made my way to Sonoma Raceway. Glad I got gas the night before since I ran into some traffic on my way out there.

The main reason I’m here was to see Horatio race and document it for him as best I could. I want to thank him for inviting me out to the event otherwise I would’ve never thought of attending.

I’ve known him and his father for a long time now, but haven’t had the opportunity to watch him race in person. He’s a hell of a driver and I’m very proud of all the accomplishments he has gotten thus far. He ended up placing P2 in Sunday’s event.

If you made it to the end of this post thank you hopefully you enjoy the photos for a Longer than normal blog! Share it with a friend who enjoys cars.

Mexico City día tres

Got up early this morning to get our day started because we’re headed to Xochimilco. We met up with Chris and Drea and hopped in the van towards our destination. Once we arrive we walked around a little bit and checked out some of the shops before getting  on the gondola.

Xochimilco, a district in southern Mexico City, has a history dating back to pre-Columbian times. Its Nahuatl name, “the place of the flower field,” reflects its significance. It was once a vital part of the Aztec chinampa agricultural system and served as a crucial source of food for Tenochtitlan. Despite changes over the centuries, Xochimilco’s canals and floating gardens remain an iconic part of its culture, earning it a UNESCO World Heritage Site designation.

Anybody visiting Mexico City This would be a highly recommended spot to check out so much life, food, music, and atmosphere surrounding you. We definitely enjoyed our time riding around on the river. Hope to do this again someday. We also hit up a local market and grab some delicious tacos and Agua Fresca’s, snapping a couple photos along the way and heading back to the hotel to edit and relax, ended up looking out the window and catching a wedding happening at the hotel. Enjoy the photos.
