Mexico City Día dos

Early this morning, Chris met up with us at our hotel and we headed to grab some shots at the historic Central of Mexico City. He recommended this bomb taco spot to try for lunch before heading to the flower market. It was a little difficult to take photos in the market since they’re not allowed so I had to be incognito about it but I think I got some pretty good shots! Unfortunately, there’s a mask mandate with this virus going around so capturing candid pictures of people are harder to get and to show their emotions through photographs. We spent an hour wandering around the market and capturing moments. I could spend hours here just taking photos. After the market, we headed to Diego‘s studio to take a tour.

Diego’s studio is a great place to visit while you’re in Mexico City especially if you’re not able to get tickets to Freda’s house. The architecture from the studios and atmosphere is super unique. I love the vibrant colors and different staircases!

Mexico City

What’s going on everybody! it’s been a couple years since I’ve last blogged anything but I’m happy to be back. For the next couple posts, they will be dedicated to my recent trip to Mexico City. I hope you enjoy.

This is my first time in Mexico City. I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve only been to some parts of Mexico 🇲🇽 like Cozumel, Tulum & Tijuana for a short period of time.

On the first day, I waited at the airport for Andy and Steve to arrive. All of us arrived pretty late so we decided to just go to the hotel and get some rest.

The next morning, it was Mexican Independence Day! Luckily, our hotel is only a block away from Paseo de la Reforma, which is the main street where the parade is. It was incredible! You can hear them shouting, playing drums, and marching before you see the actual parade. I didn’t expect to see a heavy army presence. For miles and miles different military groups were passing by; Special forces, snipers, and black ops. It felt like I was in a Call of Duty loading screen. After spending some time at the parade, we met up with Chris and Drea. They’re both from the bay area which was a pleasant surprise. After chopping it up with them for a little while, a couple more locals met up with us. It ended up feeling like a mini Instagram meet. We headed up the street to snapped pictures and enjoyed the parade. Soon after, it started to rain so we grab some tacos. After our stomachs were full, we waited for the rain to stop then we headed to Edi Studio. We chilled and checked out the view for a little bit before heading back to the hotel.
